Disclaimer for Students
The Lam Family College of Business Career Services and Professional Development provides off-campus job & internship listing information and related services on our jobs and internships page. We do not in any way either endorse the employers who list job openings or guarantee the accuracy of the information therein. Those who use the job listings do so at their own risk. The Office of Career Services & Leadership, its staff, the California State University System and the State of California assume no liabilities related to the accuracy or inaccuracy of information provided in job listings and do not represent or act on behalf of the hiring authority.
The Lam Family College of Business Career Services does its best to screen job postings. However, we make no recommendations or guarantees about the positions and employers listed through our office. Due to the volume of jobs received, we are unable to research the integrity of every position listed. Therefore, students are urged to take on this responsibility themselves. We encourage you to use common sense and caution when applying for positions, especially when applying for positions off-campus. If a potential employer asks you to participate in an activity that makes you uncomfortable in any way, don't do it. You can also keep in mind the following as you consider applying for any posting:
- The employer asks for NO resume or cover letter
- The posting seems vauge
- The grammar and spelling in the posting seems off
- They are asking you for a bank account or requiring you to send them money
- They ask you to participate in an interview via chat or email only
- They hire you "immediately"
- They don't include contact information
- They ask you to provide confidential information
- Your "gut" says it doesn't seem right
You may also wish to check with other services that rate business, for example the local Better Business Bureau. View tips and resources for an informed job search process from Career Services and Leadership Development.
Lastly, when in doubt ask for help or reach out our department for assistance.
