Professor John Logan Quoted in Washington Post Article on Amazon Workers' Vote for Unionization
April 1, 2022
Department Chair and Professor of Labour and Employment Studies John Logan discusses how the Amazon workers in New York voted for unionization and how much of a historic event this was.
"That kind of worker-fueled energy is probably what Amazon needs if the company will ever be unionized on a large scale," Logan commented while comparing unionization efforts at Amazon and Starbucks. Logan believes the labor unions cannot simply organize one warehouse at a time and that there needs to be a spark that "sort of takes on a life of its own."
