Professor John Logan Quoted on Starbucks' Agreement with the Union by Major News Organizations
February 29, 2024
Department Chair and Professor of Labor and Employment Studies John Logan spoke to The New York Times, Law360, and Fox 5 New York TV news program about the negotiations between Starbucks and the union, Workers United, and their discussions on a "foundational framework."
Logan acknowledges Starbucks' potential progress in respecting workers' right to organize but remains cautious due to the company's history of what he characterizes as aggressive and unlawful anti-union campaigns. “There’s plenty of reason to be cautious: Over the past 2.5 years, the company has engaged in one of the most aggressive and unlawful anti-union campaigns in modern history,” says Logan.
