Overview

Fun Friday Lam Family College of Business

Topic:  Leverage SF State's MBA in the Sports Industry

This event is designed for prospective and current undergraduate and graduate business students, and alumni from our graduate business programs.

Come listen to the experiences and stories from Darrell Stewart, an alum of our Master of Business Administration (MBA) for Executives program, about the opportunities and challenges he faced in preparation for his career as the Senior Manager, Corporate Partnerships for the San Francisco Giants.

Speaker:

Darrell Stewart (MBA, '23)
Sr. Manager, Corporate Partnerships
San Francisco Giants

Born in Southern California, Darrell was raised to value God, family, community, and education. From a professional standpoint - his background is in sports, education and technology (mostly). Throughout his 15 year professional career in partnerships, he has been able to work for a number of great companies - mostly in software. Landing at the Giants has been a dream come true, and Darrell is loving every minute of it!

Darrell works closely with the SF Giants' largest corporate sponsors to fulfill their contractual agreements and provide them with opportunities for additional sponsorship value at the ballpark (either gameday or nongameday). While Darrell has a Masters in Sport Management to understand the totality of professional opportunities across the sports industry, the MBA courses at SF State are much better at providing skills to be a versatile business professional by raising overall business acumen (e.g., excel modeling, CRM navigation, corporate strategy, accounting, operations, and negotiation).

Event Location: Hybrid
