Tanya Aghazadeh (MSBA Candidate, Class of 2026)
Financial Analyst
The Surplus Line Association of California
Tanya Aghazadeh, MSBA Candidate, Class of 2026, currently works as a Financial Analyst at The Surplus Line Association of California, the statutory surplus line advisory organization to the California Department of Insurance (CDI) which facilitates the state’s capacity to monitor and direct surplus line brokers’ placements of insurance with eligible surplus line insurers. Tanya's work focuses on financial analysis, reporting, and data-driven support for business decision-making. As a near-term graduate already working in the field, she brings a practical perspective on applying MSBA coursework to real-world financial analysis roles and navigating the early stages of a career in finance.
In her talk, Tanya will discuss how the SFSU MSBA program can be leveraged while in college to begin a career as a Financial Analyst. The presentation will highlight real-world applications of MSBA skills, provide insight into the insurance and financial services sector, and offer practical advice for students preparing for finance and analytics-focused roles.
