Position Description: 

The Tax Administrative Assistant role is focused on supporting the tax team. Activities include but are not limited to: assisting various administrative tasks for tax team, tracking tax filing for various business entities, communicating with different departments regarding information to/from investors, etc. Provides general accounting and finance support as needed.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with administrative tasks, including gathering and organizing information for business entities and investors
  • Track annual/quarterly tax filing for various business entities
  • Track various expenses incurred by the tax team, including, tax payments, tax preparation fees, other tax services expenses, mailing costs, etc.
  • Prepare tax payment forms and/or various income/franchise tax forms for business entities
  • Coordinate with Investor Relation team on providing and requesting information to/from investors
  • Communicate with Transaction team on retrieving transaction agreements and documents for business entities
  • Communicate with external CPA firms on providing the requested information for business entities
  • Communicate with tax authorities on various tax notices, both verbal and written correspondence
  • Perform other related tasks or projects as assigned

Required Qualifications: 

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field
  • 1+ years of related experience ( less than 1 year of experience can also be considered)
  • Strong and demonstrated interest in Tax/Accounting
  • Strong attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills
  • Strong Excel skills (xlookups, sumif, pivot table functions, etc.)
  • Strong problem solver with a willingness to learn and take on challenges
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines and complete projects
  • Yardi experience is a plus
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects with superb accuracy
  • Communicates, as directed, with investors and other business partners via phone, email, and written correspondence
