We know entrepreneurs come in all shapes and sizes, and that all good ideas deserve the chance to grow. If you're vision of entrepreneurship is to grow an idea or passion into a small or medium size business, then the micro-entrepreneurship boot camp is meant for you!
Invest a weekend with us in a series of workshops designed to help you:
- Clarify your idea,
- Design a business model,
- Understand the legal implications of your business,
- Build an online presence, and
- Launch your entrepreneurial dreams!
Participation is free for currently enrolled SFSU students, and enrollment is free. Microentrepreneurs of all majors and programs are welcomed. You must be able to attend both days of the bootcamp to qualify.
Spring 2025 Bootcamp - Restaurant Entrepreneurship
This Spring 2025 our bootcamp will be focused on entrepreneurs looking to start a food service or restaurant business. Start a food truck open a full service restaurant, or side gig a new catering business. This is the two-day intensive for F&B entrepreneurs.
This workshop series was designed to get you up and running and ready to go into F&B entrepreneurship with your eyes open. Learn about food safety, permitting, legal requirements and more. Cost out your first recipes, learn about how food delivery systems work, build a restaurant or food budget, learn about how to evaluate a commercial lease and meet other like-minded foodie entrepreneurs.

This Fall 2024, out bootcamp is geared toward the aspiring entrepreneurs of the Metro Academy program. The two-day intensive provided the basics on what it takes to start a small business including HR, budgeting, target market identification, business entity formation and more! We explored common small business opportunities that you can run out of your home; what administrative and legal requirements are required to legally set up your business; and how to think about deciding on what to sell and to whom. Our inaugural bootcamp was sold out! Attendees learned about starting their own online business; how to use design thinking to focus their concept; creating a web presence, and budgeting for their venture. This boot camp was sold out, even though this was the Friday and Saturday right before Fall Break. Truly a dedicated group of entrepreneurs!
