Guest Speaker:

Gina Yen

Principal, Uplift Consulting - DEI and Leadership and Development

Gina Yen’s circuitous career intertwines three common threads: a desire to do justice, empower people, and help organizations live their values. Gina (she/he/hers) started her career in the social service sector, working with survivors of domestic violence and children in foster care before pivoting to the corporate world—first, in management consulting organizations such as Accenture and KPMG, where she focused on learning, change management, and employee communications.

She then pivoted to tech companies such as Zuora, Roku, and Gong, designing innovative leadership and development and diversity, equity, and inclusion programs. At Gong, as Head of DEI, she used a data-informed approach to execute various DEI programs, such as crafting and executing a crisis communications strategy to guide Gong and the leadership team on how to support employees in response to complex world events.

Gina has a Bachelor of Arts from Washington University in political science and a Master of Science in Learning and Organizational Change. She lives in Daly City with her husband and three young kids, spending her spare time looking up “urgent” questions such as “Do worms have eyes?”
