Late-Night City Chompetition 2026

The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Initiative is commited to interdisciplinary collaboration to promote network building between makers, business talent, builders, and creatives - it takes a village to innovate and to bring innovations to market. This is the first year of a partnership between the I&E Initiative and Chomp City Combat Robotics, a collaborative organization between the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and BitBots. 

Eligibility guidelines are available HERE. All currently registered SFSU students are invited to enter a combat robot for competition. Robot weight class is PLANTs (Plastic Ant Weight) only. 

Attendance/audience entry is open to the extended SFSU community, including students, faculty, staff, administration, alumni, friends and family. RSVP highly encouraged.

Time Session Details
5:00 p.m. - 6:30pm Competitor Check-in and Bot Inspection Competitors: Much check in at the front desk with their bot ready for inspection. 
Audience: Network, grab a good viewing spot, have some snacks, and meet others from the SFSU Community. 
6:35pm Bracket Annoucement Single elimination, 3-min matches - brackets will be released and competitors prepare their bots for the time of their match(es)
6:45 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Preliminary Rounds First Round of single-elimination
7:30 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. Intermission Repair your bots, refresh yourself!
8:00 p.m. - 8:25 p.m. Quarter-Finals Single elimination, 3-min matches
8:30 p.m. - 8:45 p.m. Semi-Finals It's getting spicy!
8:45 p.m. - 8:55 p.m. FINALS! Cage Match! RWWWAAAAR!
8:55 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Awards Ceremony Presented by ChompCity Robotics
