| Detail | Green business entrepreneurs face a multitude of challenges transforming their vision into reality, not the least of which is the ability to obtain a bank loan. Why is getting a loan nearly impossible? How can I make my loan request bulletproof? Bill Peterson, chief credit officer, New Resource Bank, provides key insights from the side of the desk as to why getting a loan is so difficult and what green entrepreneurs can do to develop a successful financing proposal. Bill combines a long history in community banking with a deep interest in sustainability. After beginning his career at Bank of America, he spent 18 years in commercial lending and credit administration at several San Francisco Bay Area community banks. One of Bill’s key goals at New Resource Bank is to educate people on the significant impact they have on the flow of capital into businesses that consider their environmental and social impacts in addition to their financial returns. San Francisco-based New Resource Bank was founded in 2006, with a vision of bringing new resources to sustainable businesses and ultimately creating more sustainable communities. The bank’s mission is to: “Advance sustainability with everything we do—the loans we make, the way we operate and our commitment to putting deposits to work for good.” To learn more, please visit www.newresourcebank.com No RSVP is necessary. |
