Overview

Fun Friday Lam Family College of Business

Topic:  How My MBA Advanced My Career in Trust & Safety

This event is designed for prospective and current undergraduate and graduate business students, and alumni from our graduate business programs.

Come listen to the experiences and stories from Christopher Chew, an alum of our Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, about the opportunities and challenges he faced in preparation for his career as the Lead Compliance Specialist/QA at Learneo.

Speaker:

Christopher Chew (MBA, '19)
Lead Compliance Specialist/QA
Learneo

Chris grew up in a fairly unregulated, digital world where it was not uncommon for people to find access to all kinds of content and information through alternative, non-mainstream channels. However, by some ironic but lucky, chance, Chris wound up in, and fell in love with, the Trust & Safety industry, the total opposite of the wild, digital world he had lived.

Now with the EdTech platform, Learneo, he utilizes his MBA and experience as a member of the Compliance Operations team building out a robust, corporate-wide compliance infrastructure.

Event Location: Hybrid

Discussion Topics Include:

  • How did I end up in Trust & Safety (T&S)? - Overview of my T&S career path starting as a contractor at an anti-piracy company to now.

  • Life at Learneo - Why Learneo? What is it like working with Learneo?

  • Transferring MBA Experience to Learneo - Learnings I was able to bring from the MBA program to Learneo. Impacts I've had with the company?

  • The Job Search - What my experience searching for a job was like and hope sharing these experiences will be helpful.

  • Q&A
