Business Ethics Week 2009 Calendar

4th Annual Business Ethics Week Nov. 2–6, 2009

This November, the fourth annual Business Ethics Week at San Francisco State's Lam Family College of Business will create a shared focus among faculty and students on the importance of business ethics, corporate social responsibility and sustainable business.

Activities

Business Ethics Week takes place Mon., Nov. 2 through Fri., Nov. 6, with events held on both the main campus and at the SFSU Downtown Campus.

During Business Ethics Week, faculty members include in their classes readings, case studies, speakers, exercises and discussions relating to ethical dilemmas in business practice.

Please Join Us for Three Special Events

On Tues., Nov. 3, Katie Excoffier from Genentech will speak on the main campus about the social responsibility and sustainability efforts of Genentech and the employee-driven Green Genes activities. A panel discussion and Q&A will follow.

On Wed., Nov. 4, Tim Smith, the founder of All About the Future, will speak at the SFSU Downtown Campus. His presentation provides insights into corporate practices as they relate to sustainable strategic initiatives.

Another event held Wed., Nov. 4 is Technology Based Social Ventures: Lessons from the Field. Come learn how technology-driven social entrepreneurship is changing the world—from the experts at SF State. STEPS (Social and Technology Entrepreneurship at SF State) is a new multidisciplinary initiative aimed at fostering scholarship, creative and outreach activity related to understanding the simultaneous creation of social and economic value within our organizations and institutions.

Guest Speaker Katie Excoffier, Sustainability Specialist, Genentech

Katie Excoffier will speak about the social responsibility and sustainability efforts of Genentech and the employee-driven Green Genes activities. Immediately following, she will participate in a panel discussion with the Management Organization for Business Students and all CoB student organizations. Katie will take Q&A from the audience at the end of the panel discussion.
