Overview

Host:  Dr. Todd Feldman, Professor of Finance

Sustainable investing is the practice of analyzing a company’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks, as well as assessing its opportunities and progress, using ESG data and fundamental insights, to inform the allocation of capital. BlackRock is the world's largest asset manager, with US$10 trillion in assets under management, and is one of the biggest proponents of ESG investing. It's fair to say that ESG Investing has been in the news a lot lately, with pundits both lauding and criticizing it.  In this session hosted by Finance professor Dr. Feldman you meet recent SFSU graduate, Jairo Garcia, who will talk about his experience of getting a job at and working for BlackRock. Get some insight into ESG investing and careers in finance.
