Overview

SF State students are invited to join/enter a team of 3-5 students to compete in the 2024 International Business Ethics and Sustainability Case Competition during the week of April 8-12, 2024.

The 2024 International Business Ethics and Sustainability Case Competition (IBESCC) will be a hybrid competition held either online on April 8-9 or in-person at the Loyola Marymount University (LMU) campus in Los Angeles (your team’s choice) on April 10-12.

Collaborate with other values-driven business students and have some fun!

Students are invited to either form their own teams or join a team organized by the LFCoB’s Center for Ethical & Sustainable Business (CESB).

It's completely free to participate!

The CESB will cover all registration fees and even provide travel expenses for teams competing in-person in Los Angeles.

The Competitions

Teams of 3-5 graduate or undergraduate students engage in three competitions during the event:

  • The 25-Minute Competition:  Teams will present their chosen business problem, an analysis of the ethical, sustainable, legal and financial aspects of a problem, and a viable solution on all fronts.
  • The 10-Minute Competition:  Teams will incorporate the suggestions from judges during the 25-minute presentation to give a 10-minute presentation expanding on the ethical aspect of the problem.
  • The 90-Second Competition:  Teams will give an elevator pitch explaining the importance of the sustainability component of the problem.
