The Economics Department offers a B.A. and M.A. in Economics. We are a medium-sized department with approximately 11 full time faculty members.
Vision: The Economics Department vision is to be a quality academic department that provides best possible education to our undergraduate and graduate students, trains student scholars and fosters original intellectual growth through research.
Mission: Our mission is to prepare our students, through high quality teaching and research, to be engaged and informed citizens, and to contribute productively in their careers using knowledge learned during their study of Economics.

Phi Beta Kappa Visiting Scholar
Dr. Paula Stephan will be speaking on "Are the Foreign Born a Source of Strength for Science?" on Tuesday, April 9, 7:00pm – 8:30pm, in HSS 130. Everybody is welcome to attend! Dr. Stephan is a labor economist from Georgia State University and is this year’s SFSU Phi Beta Kappa Visiting Scholar.
