The Economics Department offers a B.A. and M.A. in Economics. We are a medium-sized department with approximately twelve full time faculty members. We strive for excellence in teaching and also have a wide variety of research interests in various applied fields in economics.

Betty Blecha Memorial Distinguished Speaker Lecture: Join us for the Inaugural Betty Blecha Memorial Distinguished Speaker Lecture featuring Carl E. Walsh, Distinguished Professor of Economics at UC Santa Cruz and visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank in San Francisco. Date and time: Wednesday, April 30, 2014, 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Seven Hills Conference Center. Admission is free.
Department of Economics Scholarships: Economics majors are welcome to apply for Ramona K. First Scholarship in Economics, Don Scoble Scholarship in Economics and George Feliz Memorial Scholarship in Economics. Applications are due by 4pm on April 10, 2014, in HSS 142.
Economics Seminar Series: Yuya Takahashi (Johns Hopkins University) will present his work "Entry and Shakeout in Dynamic Oligopoly" on Monday, March 17, 4:00pm-5:30pm, in LIB 244. Everybody is welcome to attend!
Internship opportunities: Six Richard J. Riordan Summer Internships opportunities are now posted on The Public Policy Institute of California website. These internship projects provide an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students interested in a public policy career to work in a policy research environment.
