Professor Sada Soorapanth Awarded Griffiths Medal for Research Article in Health Systems

Professor of Decision Sciences Sada Sooropanth, alongside her co-authors, was awarded the 2019-2020 Griffiths Medal for her research published in the Journal of Health Systems.

Awarded by the Operational Research Society, the Griffiths medal recognizes the most outstanding contributions to the philosophy, theory, or practice of health systems published in the Journal of Health Systems.

Soorapanth's article explores the value of modeling-based design in healthcare delivery, analyzing the cost of modeling and savings resulting from several healthcare management decisions based on simulation results. 

Soorapanth is an expert in the economic analysis of public health policy and new medical technology, focusing her research on statistical modeling, decision analysis, and discrete-event simulation with applications in health care.
