Professor of Management Ronald Purser discussed the corporate mindfulness space and its misguided use as a response to employee wellness concerns.
Purser believes mindfulness had become a brand commodity that lets corporations off the hook for toxic organizational culture, citing the response to a petition demanding better working conditions Starbucks baristas sent corporate headquarters. “What did corporate management do? They announced that they would be gifting all their employees a Headspace mindfulness meditation app!" he told The Telegraph.
