Professor John Logan interviewed by Women's Wear Daily

Professor and Chair of Labor and Employment Studies John Logan commented on union disputes. 

Logan reflects on union classification debates between hundreds of staffers and their employer Hearst Magazines - one of the world's largest publishers of magazine media, including The Oprah Magazine, Men's Health, Cosmopolitan, Popular Mechanics, and Good Housekeeping, among others.

While the company might believe there's a case to be made, Logan notes that disputes over bargaining unit determination are one of the most common causes of delayed elections. "Unions have claimed that some employers deliberately employ delays as a strategy to both extend the period during which they can conduct an antiunion campaign, and to take the momentum out of the union campaign," he says.
