Professor John Logan Quoted by The Guardian on Amazon Union Drive

Professor and Chair of Labor and Employment Studies John Logan commented on the union battle between Amazon and its employees in Bessemer, Alabama.

Workers in Bessemer, Alabama, are pushing for a union that could pave the way to organizing fulfillment centers in other states. However, some experts believe the company will allocate any amount of resources to thwarting unionization efforts. “There’s absolutely not a level playing field. The union is competing with a company that has unlimited access and all different ways of reaching employees,” Logan says. "I don’t think there’s any amount of money Amazon won’t be prepared to spend to win."
