Professor and Chair of Labor and Employment Studies John Logan discussed his predictions for future anti-union efforts at Google.
This week, over 200 workers at Alphabet and its subsidiary Google moved to form a union focused on growth opportunities and inclusivity. This shift could be a model for other Silicon Valley giants, but some experts believe companies will continue to oppose unionization among both employees and contractors. “I think we should anticipate that Google will continue down the path of being absolutely opposed to any form of collective organization among its employees,” said Logan. “I think it is absolutely ideologically committed to unilateral control of the workplace.”
