Professor and Chair of Labor and Employment Studies John Logan shared his thoughts about the recent union drive by workers at Amazon.
Logan spoke to the Huffington Post, NBC News, NPR, Reuters, The Guardian, and RT America about this historic moment for the labor movement.
Based on his previous research and expertise on this type of anti-union campaign, Logan believes Amazon is almost certainly running up a tab on lawyers and consultants in the millions of dollars. Even if the union loses, this battle could shine light on how tilted the playing field is against unions during organizing drives and build support for enacting pro-union legislation. Logan also sees light in recent political support of unionization, telling NPR “we’ve never really had a sitting president, I think, in history who had such clear, direct support for an ongoing labor campaign."
