Op-Ed on Labor Secretary by Professor John Logan Published by The Hill

Professor and Chair of Labor and Employment Studies John Logan discussed Boston Mayor Marty Walsh's Secretary of Labor nomination in an op-ed published by The Hill.

Logan detailed five key reasons why he believes Marty Walsh has potential to excel as Labor Secretary, including his close relationship with President-elect Biden, ability to bride divides within the labor movement, relatable professional and personal experiences, deep understanding of diverse sectors, and a passion for revitalizing the Department of Labor with a talented group of experts. Walsh lacks the Ivy League degree common of nominees, coming instead from humble beginnings in Boston’s working-class, a quality that Logan says makes him "the perfect candidate to transform the moribund Trump Labor Department into one that once again protects American workers."
