Accounting and Financial Women's Alliance scholarship available

AFWA (Accounting and Financial Women's Alliance) was formed in 1938 to increase the opportunities for women in all fields of accounting and finance. Members include partners in national, regional and local CPA firms, financial officers, controllers, academicians, financial analysts and data processing consultants, recent college graduates and women returning to the work force. The majority of our members have attained professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, CIA and CFP. The mission of AFWA is to enable women in all accounting, finance and related fields to achieve their full personal, professional and economic potential and to contribute to the future development of their profession.

In order to promote Accounting and Finance as professions, the San Francisco and Bay Area Chapter of AFWA is pleased to be able to offer a scholarship of $1,000 to a third, fourth or fifth-year undergraduate student or graduate student in accounting or finance. In addition to the scholarship the successful candidate will receive a free annual membership to AFWA and the support and mentorship of an active group of accounting professionals.

In order to be considered for this award, which will be issued in June 2016, please complete the Scholarship Form (word doc) and return it to us by April 30, 2016. All queries and correspondence should be addressed to Alla Koltun, CPA, AFWA-SF Scholarship Chair, allakoltun@gmail.com.
