On January 24, 2013, San Francisco State University Information Systems students Sepehr Fahimi, Nick Ivanovic, James Prossor, Yulbright Yu, Kan Zhang and department professors Paul Beckman and Leigh Jin attended the SAP HANA Start-Up Forum at SAP Labs in Palo Alto.

SAP HANA Startup Forum

The SAP HANA Startup Forum provides an outstanding opportunity for students to learn the SAP HANA platform, and to network with SAP experts and individuals in the start-up business community.

In partnership with SAP University Alliance, this event demonstrated the synergy of collaboration to benefit start-ups, students and SAP.

During the SAP HANA Startup Forum, over 15 start-up companies pitched their business cases and software solutions. Our students and faculty had the opportunity to spend time on the SAP Labs campus to use the technical resources, meet key SAP leaders, and showcase their SAP skills.

Towards the end of the day, each attendee received "six-million euros" to participate in a funding contest where attendees invest the money to back companies they believe have the best chance for success. The "top funded" company was a cool local-startup named “crowdmob.”
