Your Chance to Design or Build the Next Breakthrough App!

Participants may submit a wide variety of innovative app ideas and prototypes to address a practical problem of personal, business, environmental, civic or social significance. All SF State students are invited to join the challenge!

Open to all platforms, this contest focuses on the exploration of innovative ideas that address the practical problem of personal, business, environmental, civic or social significance through mobile technology. Winning ideas ought to be realistic within the technology and economic landscape over the next one to three years. You are encouraged to employ design thinking methodology during the ideation process. Both individual and team entries (up to 4 students per team) are allowed. The Appathon is co-sponsored by PG&E and the College of Business.

All SF State students are invited to join the challenge!

Individual and team entries are allowed, though at least one member must be an SF State student. A representative from PG&E will present the award certificate.

Key Dates and Deadlines

  • Registration and PowerPoint Submission Deadine: Saturday, May 15, 11:59 p.m. PST
  • Appathon team presentation: Monday, May 20, SF State Downtown Campus, room 597, 6 – 9 p.m.; judges will be present at the presentation
