Professor of Management Ron Purser was featured in Financial Times, where he discussed the corporate wellness market.
Purser, author of McMindfulness: How Mindfulness Became the New Capitalist Spirituality, believes the corporate wellness industry is a short-term fix that is less effective than it may seem. "You can never be too well, that's why it's a massive growth industry," he says.
Purser also notes the misguided use of mindfulness apps in office environments, saying they are "a quick recharge for employees so they can jump back into business as usual. [Companies] are outsourcing the burden on employees. They are a superficial fix to structural issues."
