Free Tax Preparation Services Available Now with SFSU Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program

The SFSU VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Program, sponsored by the Accounting student organization members of the SFSU Beta Alpha Psi-Beta Chi Chapter and the United Way of Bay Area, offers FREE tax preparation services to individuals with low incomes who cannot afford the services of a paid professional tax preparer and to the elderly, those with limited English proficiency and individuals with disabilities who require assistance in preparing their tax returns.

It’s tax season again—time to file federal and state income tax returns to get your refund! Free tax preparation service is available now through SFSU VITA.

To file your taxes with SFSU VITA, please upload documents via a secure platform (GetYourRefund: http://getyourrefund.org/sfsu) and an IRS-certified volunteer will be in touch soon!

Please note that VITA cannot prepare tax returns for those:

  1. whose income is above $66,000;
  2. married filing separately; or
  3. self-employed with business expenses greater than $10,000.
