Assistant Professor of Management Antoaneta (Toni) Petkova was named the winner of the Past Presidents Best Paper Award 2011 by the Western Academy of Management (WAM) at its 2011 conference March 23-27 in Victoria, British Columbia.

The jury selects only one paper from all the papers that are accepted for presentation and included in the conference program.

Assistant Professor of Management Toni Petkova Toni’s winning paper is titled "Being First or Making a Difference? A Study of U.S. Venture Capital Investments into the Clean Energy Sector.”

In December, the Western Academy of Management said that Toni would receive the Ascendant Scholar award at the conference. To qualify for that award, a professor’s research, teaching, professional service, and ongoing work are taken into account. As part of that award, Toni was invited to give a separate presentation on her research portfolio at the conference.

Congratulations, Toni, on this double recognition!
