MBA Emphasis in Sustainable Business In the News
Events The Emphasis Graduate Advisors – Silverman, Thomas, Paton, Melhus, Kleinrichert This emphasis provides students with an in-depth appreciation of the environmental and social dimensions of conducting business in a global market. Three aspects of sustainable business that improve a firm's long-term performance will be emphasized: managing risks (regulatory, reputation, litigation, market), values-driven leadership, and recognizing market opportunities created by environmental and social challenges. Learning outcomes include how to articulate the business case for sustainability, develop and lead internal and external coalitions needed to drive organizational change, and implement metrics for measuring progress and providing accountability. After acceptance to the MBA Program, students will need to demonstrate basic competencies in
mathematics, statistics and written English. Students will also need to take or
waive the nine foundation
courses. These courses will prepare the student for the program's advanced
requirements. Students must then complete the courses in
the Emphasis. The MBA with an Emphasis in Sustainable Business requires
the same number of course units as the other MBA emphases.
