The advanced portion of the MSBA Program consists of ten (10) courses, or 30 units. If the student has not taken or waived a business strategy course within the past five years, BUS 690 will be required as an extra course, making a total of 33 units.

The MSBA Program allows a student to tailor an individual course of study. It is a more flexible program than the MBA, in that nine (9) out of the ten (10) (or eleven 11) required courses are electives, chosen with the help of an academic advisor in the same specialization. The final course will be the Research Project or Master's Thesis, as required by the specialization.

This degree is excellent for students who have completed or waived the foundation courses and wish to concentrate in one or two areas exclusively. Courses from another department or even another college of the university may also be applied to the MSBA Degree, as well as certain upper-level undergraduate courses, if approved by the academic advisor.
