MARKETING/COMMUNICATIONS INTERNSHIP - ACROSPORTS

  • Stipend: $500 - $1000, depending on total hours
  • Duration: Approx. June 2 – August 15
  • Minimum commitment: 15 hours per week

AcroSports is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to teach and develop the physical, performing, and circus arts. Our classes serve over 2,500 students per week in our 10,000 square foot facility as well as in our offsite and community outreach programs.

We are seeking a Marketing/Communications Intern for Summer 2014. The Marketing/Communications Internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience and learn fundamental industry practices.

This includes assisting managers with development of strategies and project execution as well as ownership of specific projects leveraging social media platforms, CRM and database software. The internship is designed to provide students who are currently enrolled in a 4-year university and earning a Bachelor’s Degree with an opportunity to develop a robust and marketable skill set he/she can leverage with future projects and employers.

AcroSports offers one-on-one mentorship and engages interns in an evaluation process at the end of the assignment to identify opportunities for personal development and assist with establishing career goals.

Duties and Responsibilities May Include:

  • Assist with execution of email marketing campaigns and tracking performance.
  • Maintain and develop contact database through marketing and outreach efforts.
  • Assist with social media efforts (Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn) including management of content calendar and automation software.
  • Participate in community events and distribution of marketing materials to promote awareness of AcroSports programs and services.
  • Assist Marketing Department and Senior Management with overflow work, including word processing, data entry and internet research tasks.
  • Assist with on and off site event coordination logistics planning, scheduling and execution.
  • Research and recommend content for company blog. Track and report on engagement.
  • Manage media library and catalogue assets.

Academic Qualification and Desired Skills:

  • Desire for industry knowledge and mentoring from professionals in the non-profit industry.
  • Must be working towards a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year university.
  • Articulate, detail-oriented, self-starter able to work with minimal supervision and interact in a professional manner.
  • Ability to adapt to new tasks quickly and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage expectations while working on projects simultaneously.
  • Be able to communicate professionally and in writing.
  • Extremely web and email savvy.
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop/InDesign a plus. Also willing to train candidates who have a strong desire to develop this skill.
  • MS Office Suite proficiency.
