2008 Hospitality Management Annual Symposium
and Career Fair
The Hospitality Management Department at San Francisco State University is pleased to announce their 14th Annual Hospitality Management Symposium Current Dynamics of the Hospitality Industry. The event will be held on the SF State campus at the Nob Hill Room, Seven Hills Conference Center, Wednesday, March 5, 2008.

Morning sessions include the SF State Alumni Roundtable “Employment in Year 2008” from 9:00 to 10:20 a.m., and “Diversity as a Competitive Advantage” by Valerie Saito, Director of Human Resources, Hyatt Regency, SF, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The luncheon keynote session “Current Trends in the Hospitality Industry: Strategies to Address Issues” will be presented by Joe D'Alessandro, President and CEO, SFCVB, from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. Download a preview of the program (PDF).
The purpose of the Hospitality Management Symposium and Career Fair is for the Hospitality Management students to interact and learn from the hospitality industry representatives.
The HM Symposium is also open to the public. For more information, please contact Dr. Janet Sim, jsim@sfsu.edu, 415/338-2673. Attendance at the Symposium is $20 including the noon luncheon session. Registration fee must be prepaid. Deadline is February 29, 2008. The Career Fair will be held from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. The registration fee is $425 which will cover the costs of the facility, publicity, table (4'x6'), employer signage, parking permit (1), and lunch (2 people) at the keynote session. About the SF State University Hospitality Management Program
The largest four-year Hospitality Management Program in the Bay Area with over 400 students. Approximately 100 students graduate from the program each year. The B.S. in Hospitality Management is housed in the College of Business, AACSB accredited. The program prepares students for management positions in lodging, restaurant and resort businesses.
