San Francisco has been consistently

growing hospitality industry is the city's largest employer. At the heart
of this dynamic setting is the Hospitality and Tourism Management Department at San
Francisco State University. Students enrolled in the expanding Hospitality
Management Program participate in rigorous academic coursework, learn
directly from industry experts, and frequently intern and start careers
at Bay Area hospitality sites.
The Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management prepares students in the management of businesses that are an integral part of a dynamic and rapidly growing hospitality industry such as restaurant and food service management, hotel management, conventions and meeting management, tourism management and other areas. The program provides students with excellent theoretical knowledge, skills, and techniques necessary to successfully attain outstanding management positions in many emphasis areas: Hotel Operation Management, Restaurant and Catering Management, Conventions, Meetings and Event Management, Hospitality Labor Relations Management, International Tourism Management, and Hospitality Entrepreneurship Management. The program is located in the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management in the College of Business, AACSB accredited.
The Hospitality Management Program ranks among the best available. The program provides students with the overall breadth of a common core of business courses in accounting, economics, information systems, marketing and management, as well as professional interdisciplinary courses and internship opportunities in hotel management, food service and restaurant management, conventions and event management and other hospitality management areas.
To maximize a variety of professional opportunities, students are able to choose from each of the six emphases designed to prepare highly professional and marketable specialists to manage complex and diverse hospitality organizations.
Classes are taught by distinguished faculty members who are scholarly with research published in leading academic journals and extensive industry work experience. Instruction also incorporates modern computer applications, internship experience in the hospitality industry, guest speakers and field trips in the hospitality industry.
The program provides state-of-the-art food service management facilities
