Description

Undergraduate business students at San Francisco State University are required to take one upper division course in operations management, and student comprehension and abilities in this class vary greatly. In this study the authors investigated the efficacy of different metrics in predicting grade performance in Operations Management. Based on data from 549 students from multiple semesters, sections and instructors, the authors concluded that the grade received in the pre-requisite statistics class is the most effective predictor. Ramifications from these results and recommendations are presented in conclusion.
