Abdelghani Elimam

Professor, Decision Sciences

Professor Elimam teaching areas include Applied Operations Research (OR), Operations Management, World Class Manufacturing and Service Operations, and Total Quality Management. Prior to January 1991, he was a Senior Research Scientist in the Applied Systems Department of the Techno-Economics Division at Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR). While at KISR, he worked on the mathematical modeling and optimization of industrial and service systems , industrial diagnosis, quality and productivity improvement studies. Over the four years preceding Dec. 1979, he worked on OR applications in production, distribution and maintenance for the petroleum and petrochemical products plants of Union Carbide Corporation. His consulting work includes Application of Mathematical Modeling and optimization in industrial and service facilities, Scheduling and Quality Assurance. He published in Operations Research, Interfaces, Institute of Industrial Engineering (IIE) Transactions, European Journal of Operational Research, The International Journal of Production Research, IEEE Transactions on Reliability, The International Journal of Management Science, Applied Mathematical Modeling, Applied Discrete Mathematics, Solar Energy and The ASCE Environmental Engineering Journal. He carried out and led numerous consulting and applied research projects in the US and abroad. He is a member of INFORMS (Institute for Operations Research and the Management Science), and IIE.
