Bear Family Scholarship
Established by SF State alumnus, philanthropist and community leader Irwin Bear and his wife Ann Bear. Mr. Bear had a successful career in the textiles industry and guest-lectured in entrepreneurship classes at SF State.
Bill Kimpton Hospitality Scholarship
Established in honor of Mr. Bill Kimpton, founder of Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants. Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants is a stalwart supporter of SF State’s Hospitality and Tourism Management program and the future leaders of the hospitality industry.
Building Owners and Managers Association of San Francisco Foundation Scholarship
The Building Owners and Managers Association established the scholarship to encourage students to enter the field of commercial real estate. The fund provides for both course-work as well as career development in the field. This is a ground-breaking fund and will set the precedent for additional scholarships in commercial real estate.
Chevron Scholarship Fund in Accounting
A Bay Area-based company, Chevron upholds its tradition of supporting educational excellence through this scholarship fund.
CIO Scholarship Fund Endowment in Information Systems
The fund was established by Bay Area-based chief information officers who had authored books on the subject of information systems. Proceeds from sales of the books are devoted to endow a fund to support economically disadvantaged students pursuing careers in information technology and computer science.
Dale McKeen Scholarship
This endowed scholarship was established by students of the late Professor Dale McKeen to honor him and the impact of his teaching on countless students at San Francisco State University.
Don W. Scoble Endowment Scholarship Fund
More than 100 friends, colleagues and former students of Professor Don Scoble joined together to endow a scholarship in honor of this well-respected and well-loved member of the faculty at SF State. The scholarship is designated to promote research and scholarship on issues pertinent to the Bay Area.
Eric Vargas Memorial Scholarship Fund
This fund was established by the Legal Marketing Association of the Bay Area in memory of Eric Vargas, and support students with demonstrated need.
Hong Kong Association of Northern California Scholarship Program Fund
The Hong Kong Association of Northern California seeks to advance understanding of the role of Hong Kong in regional and global economies of the 21st century. The fund has been established to support bilingual students in Chinese and English that are pursuing studies in economics and business at San Francisco State University.
Lawrence Chan Scholarship
The Lawrence Chan Scholarship Award is for hotel management students who achieve academic excellence in their field of expertise. Mr. Lawrence Chan is an international hotelier who, through this scholarship, seeks to promote excellence in the hotel management educational program at San Francisco State University.
Leona M. Bridges Endowed Scholarship
An alumna and member of the San Francisco State Foundation Board of Directors, Leona M. Bridges created this scholarship fund to encourage student success at San Francisco State.
Linda and Nathaniel Oubré Leadership Scholarship Fund
Linda and Nathaniel Oubré are first-generation college graduates and have created this scholarship to support students who also are the first in their family to attend university and are leaders amongst their peers. Mrs. Oubré is dean of SF State’s College of Business and Mr. Oubre is an executive at Kaiser Permanente.
Mitsuko Saito Duerr Scholarshsip
Dr. Edwin Duerr and Dr. Mitsuko Saito Duerr are retired faculty in the College of Business at San Francisco State University. The Duerrs were instrumental in broadening business relations between Japan and the United States. With the Mitsuko Saito Duerr Scholarship, the Duerrs wish to continue San Francisco State University’s tradition of cultural exchange with Japan.
Moss Adams Scholarship
Moss Adams LLP established this scholarship to promote academic excellence as well as community service amongst accounting students at SF State. The fund provides for two scholarships geared towards students nearing the end of their academic careers.
Mr. and Mrs. P. Y. Wen Memorial Scholarship Fund
This fund was set up in honor of Mr. and Mrs. P.Y. Wen to support first year students at San Francisco State.
Ramona K. First Award
The scholarship was created in honor of Professor Emerita Ramona K. First. The award is geared towards graduate economics students in the College of Business at SF State.
Wallace Fund for Diversity
Arthur Wallace was the first African-American dean of the College of Business at SF State. The fund was established to support students of diverse backgrounds who wish to pursue business education at SF State.
Yumi E. Satow Vista Room Scholarship
The scholarship was established by the late Dr. Yumi Satow who had a special connection to SF State’s student-run fine dining restaurant, the Vista Room. The scholarship supports students who are enrolled in one of the courses taught in the Vista Room.
