College of Business : Scholarship Detail : Hospitality Sales and Mktg Assoc Int'l Northern CA Chapter – Student Membership Scholarship Program
Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International Northern California Chapter – Student Membership Scholarship Program
The purpose of this program is to provide scholarships for one year student memberships in HSMAI Northern California Chapter to students pursuing Associate, Baccalaureate and Graduate Degrees in Hospitality Management or related fields.
Program Description
There will be nine student memberships awarded, three each from these universities:
- California State University, East Bay
- San Francisco State University
- San Jose State University
The scholarship recipients will receive an annual membership to HSMAI-Northern California and will be entitled to all benefits of membership, including resource materials on the HSMAI website. In addition, students attend HSMAI-Northern California educationally oriented luncheons at a discounted price of $15 throughout the length of their membership, which is one-third of the fee that members pay. The luncheons and events provide excellent networking opportunities for students to meet professionals in the hospitality arena. It is our intention that students’ participation in HSMAI events will establish relationships with professionals who may be instrumental in their future job search. The student members may be asked to contribute to an HSMAI event or publication geared to students, or to assist with HSMAI public relations efforts. The annual membership will be awarded to the student recipients for a calendar period of one year. If the students graduate, the membership follows each individual student until completion of the annual membership date.
