News + Events : Ola Ayyoub awarded 2009 Delta Sigma Pi Scholarship Key
Ola Ayyoub, this year’s Delta Sigma Pi scholarship key recipient, has shown herself to be an extremely talented and capable student during her time as an Accounting major here in the College of Business.
According to Assistant Professor Mark Landis, who had the opportunity to be one of her Accounting instructors, “Ola took my Accounting Information Systems class in Spring 2008 and excelled in all aspects of the course, consistently [earning] some of the highest scores that I have awarded. Throughout the class, her comments were relevant and insightful, and I always appreciated her contributions.â€
Most assuredly, Ola’s work has remained consistently superior throughout her degree program. She is a constant fixture on the Dean’s List, never once having missed out on recognition; she is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma International Business Honor Society; she completed her coursework with an almost perfect GPA; and she will be graduating from SF State summa cum laude.
In addition to her studies, Ola is involved in many extra-curricular activities, including Taekwondo (for which she earned a black belt), and she has considerable experience volunteering for the Red Cross in her home country of Jordan.
Ola’s immediate plans after graduation are to work for a public accounting firm while pursuing her CPA license. On a more distant horizon, she hopes to eventually return to Jordan and continue her accounting career there.
Whatever career path Ola decides to follow, it is undeniable that she will achieve great success. “It has been my privilege to teach such a talented and enjoyable person,†says Professor Landis. “I am sure a promising career in accountancy awaits Ola.â€
