Aznaur Midov named Outstanding Student Leader
Julz Padonino and Brian Wong nominated

On April 23, the SF State Office of Student Programs and Leadership Development (OSPLD) announced the 2009 Leadership in Action Awards, recognizing student organizations, student leaders and faculty advisors of the more than 200 student organizations in the university.

Aznaur Midov, a finance student, was one of just seven students in the university awarded the Outstanding Student Leader Award.

The nomination of Aznaur read: "In spring 2008, Aznaur founded a new organization at the College of Business and named it FAME—Financial Analysis and Management Education. This organization is a creative and innovative way to close the gap between students' curricular activities and the business reality. He managed all the fundraising, advertising, recruitment and networking for FAME. His activities influenced other FAME members, and his spirit and passion for FAME have reflected on each member. He managed to create a great team and to make everyone feel important. His positive influence on team members is impossible to underestimate.”

FAME was also a nominee for Outstanding Student Organization.

Also nominated for Outstanding Student Leader were Marketing student Julz Padojino, senior vice president of Delta Sigma Pi, and Accounting student Brian Wong, president of ASCEND.

Finance Professor Alan Jung, advisor to FAME, and Assistant Professor of Accounting Amy Chang, advisor to ASCEND, were nominated as Outstanding Faculty Advisor.

Congratulations all!
