February 28, 2008 -- Students are invited to get an in-depth look at the hospitality industry when the Hospitality Management Department hosts its 14th annual symposium and career fair March 5.
The daylong event kicks off with a symposium at 8:50 a.m. in the Nob Hill Room of the Seven Hills Conference Center, where recent graduates will host a roundtable discussion about their experiences in the industry. The day will be headlined by a luncheon and address about current trends in the hospitality industry given by Joe D’Alessandro, CEO of the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau. D’Alessandro will provide valuable insights into the future of the tourism industry.
In the afternoon, students can attend a career fair from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in the Towers Conference Center and mingle with nearly 30 employers in the hospitality industry who have established track records of hiring SF State students. “It’s the largest group we’ve ever had,†said Janet Sim, chair of the Hospitality Management Department. “Every year we get larger and larger.â€
