Alum FJ Cava: Business brightens up the Bayview
News + Events : Alum FJ Cava: Business brightens up the Bayview
There’s a new business opening in March in the Bayview called Bayview Webspot. It's a place where people can come and surf the Internet while earning points for purchases of computer hardware and software through a program called Surf 4 Success.
The idea is the brainchild of FJ Cava, a recent graduate of San Francisco State University’s MBA Program and Renaissance/Bayview Business Resource Center classes. The model, based on the airline frequent flyer programs, allows people to surf the Internet, buy computer storage media or food and drinks, all the while earning points towards a new computer, iPod or software. The Surf 4 Success program is designed to help low-to-moderate income neighborhoods gain access to computer hardware and software as they learn, play and work.
Webspot’s core values are to strengthen low-to-moderate income communities by continually providing access to, and ownership of, high-end technology; and to provide a safe and friendly environment of education and accessibility for the clients we serve.
