Minu Kumar, Assistant Professor – Department of
Marketing

Minu Kumar received
his Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Mississippi. During his time at
Ole Miss, he taught several courses in Marketing, including Buyer Seller
Communication, Introduction to Retailing, and Principles of Advertising. Minu’s
professional business experience includes serving as Director of Brand
Development at the Brand Institute in New York City, and he has also co-authored
a teacher’s guide on the book
Pharmaceutical Marketing: Principles, Environment, and Practices.

Ian Sinapuelas, Assistant Professor – Department of
Marketing

Ian Sinapuelas was
awarded a Ph.D. in Marketing from Purdue University in December 2006. His
teaching experience includes MBA-level Marketing Management at the German
International Graduate School of Management and Administration in Hanover,
Germany, as well as several business courses during his time at Purdue. Ian’s
research interests include Marketing Strategy, Feature Competition, Product
Imitation, and New Product Development.

Veronika Papyrina, Assistant Professor – Department of
Marketing

Veronika Papyrina received
her Ph.D. in Business Administration with an Area of Specialization in
Marketing from the R. Ivey School of Business at the University of Western
Ontario. Her teaching experience includes two years instructing Marketing for
Administrative and Commercial Studies at Kings College University of Western
Ontario in Canada, and one year at the High Institute of Management in her
native Moscow, where she taught Social and Political Environment of Business.

Denise Kleinrichert, Assistant Professor – Department
of Management: Ethics

Denise Kleinrichert holds
a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of South Florida, with Areas of
Specialization in Business Ethics, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Applied
Ethics. Denise also has extensive corporate experience, serving as Senior
Technical Recruiter for Convergent Technologies for two years and IT Recruiter
for PF1 Professional Services for two years. Additionally, Denise was Assistant
Vice President and Benefits Manager at First Florida Bank for one year before
being promoted to full Vice President one year after that. She is a member of
the American Philosophical Association, the Society for Business Ethics, and
the Academy of Management.

Eric Lamm, Assistant Professor – Department of Management:
Org. Behavior

Eric Lamm recently
earned his Ph.D. in Management with an Area of Specialization in Organizational
Change from Boston College. His teaching interests include Cross-Cultural
Communications, International Business, and Organizational Behavior. Eric has
traveled extensively during his academic career, visiting a variety of locales such
as Africa, Central America, Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Indian
subcontinent. He is also a proud husband and father of two young girls.

Sylvia Flatt, Associate Professor – Department of Management:
Org. Behavior

Sylvia Flatt received
her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of California, Berkley. She
previously worked as a tenured Associate Professor at the University of San
Francisco, and served as Director of the Human Resources and Organization
Development program (HROD). No stranger to San Francisco State, Sylvia has
taught in the EMBA program here at the College of Business. She is a member of
the Academy of Management, Western Academy of Management, and the Strategic
Management Society.  

David Martin, Assistant Professor – Department of Hospitality
Management

David Martin earned his
Ph.D. from Auburn University where he was also a Research Assistant in Hotel
and Restaurant Management. His professional experience includes working as
Assistant Front Office Manager at the El Dorado Hotel in Santa Fe, and as a Rooms
Intern at the Ritz-Carlton in Naples, FL. David has teaching interests in Hotel
Operations, Event and Special Event Management, and Customer Satisfaction.  

Shuming Liu, Assistant Professor – Department of Finance

Originally from the
People’s Republic of China, Shuming Liu joins SF State after earning her Ph.D.
in Finance from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at
Austin. During her time at UT, she taught an undergraduate Investment
Management course, and served as an MBA teaching assistant in Financial
Strategies and Investment Theory and Practice courses. Shuming’s teaching
interests include Corporate Finance, Empirical Asset Pricing, and Market
Microstructure.

Deniz Kebabci, Assistant Professor – Department Finance
Deniz Kebabci earned
her B.A. in Business Administration from Koc University in Turkey before
earning both her M.A. and Ph.D. from UC San Diego in the United States. She is
the recipient of many awards, including the Dean’s Travel Award and being named
a Mary Berglund Fellow while at UCSD. Her teaching experience includes courses
on Economics, Econometrics, and Financial Accounting.
