Michael Meeks and Mitchell Marks, both assistant professors in management, have been awarded a grant from the Organization
Development and Change (ODC) division of the Academy of Management to
conduct a study on Should Organization Development be Taught at the
The Academy of Management is the preeminent scholarly
association in the field of business management.
The grant comes from
the Organization Development and Change Endowment Fund (ODCEF), which is
designed to encourage and support research and inquiry toward (a) the
development of ODC programs and courses, (b) the design of innovative
educational processes, teaching methods, and instructional technologies, and
(c) an understanding of organizational change and the competencies necessary
to achieve it.
Their research proposal was selected because it supports the
mission of the Organization Development and Change Endowment Fund. In
particular, this research will have a direct impact on undergraduate program
and course development in ODC at universities and schools both domestically
and internationally; will result in innovative educational processes,
teaching methods, and instructional technologies in ODC; and will aid in understanding ODC competencies in a manner that enhances academic programs
at the undergraduate level.
