SF State MBA student Virginia Traxler was awarded a $1,000 scholarship for the 2011 Women in Logistics (WIL) scholarship competition.
Virgina expects to receive her MBA degree with an emphasis in decision sciences and operations research in spring 2012. Originally hailing from Venezuela, she's not content with just being bilingual, she is also learning Mandarin in her desire to work in international sourcing.
Every year Women in Logistics holds a competition and awards scholarships to Bay Area students who plan to work in the logistics and supply chain management field. The judging committee reviewed many applicants from several different universities, and was particularly impressed with Virginia's achievements and drive. In addition to providing resources for both women and men in the business of logistics, transportation, supply chain management and technology, WIL is an information resource network for career development, mentoring, and educational opportunities.
