“Sustainability strategy is no longer ‘nice to have’ but a ‘must have’ business imperative for companies across sectors and geographies.” ~Aberdeen Group “The ROI of Sustainability: Making the Business Case”
On July 19, SF State’s Graduate Business Programs held an open house for potential MBA students interested in an emphasis in sustainable business.
The presentation shared solid points as to why SF State’s program is a great choice—Top 13 in US on the Aspen Institute’s Top Global 100 List (16 worldwide), first in the CSU system to offer a sustainability-focused MBA, eight faculty focusing on sustainable business, and a Center for Ethical and Sustainable Business. Candidates go on to lead nonprofit organizations, to drive change from within traditional business, and to entrepreneurial ventures.
In addition, an important point mentioned during the presentation was SF State’s accreditation by AACSB, The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. This is a key factor to look for when applying to graduate business programs.
For business degree programs at the undergraduate, masters, and doctorate level, AACSB Accreditation is the largest and most recognized specialized accreditation worldwide. The requirements for AACSB Accreditation are very stringent. In fact, 86 percent of AACSB-accredited schools say that the AACSB Accreditation Standards are the most stringent as compared to other accreditations they hold.
With nine foundation courses and ten advanced classes, and the possibility to complete the program in one year, SF State’s MBA Emphasis in Sustainable Business is definitely a career path to think about. The next admission deadline is October 1, 2012.
