On April 22, the student organization, Financial Analysis and Management Education (FAME), held its inaugural Value Investing Symposium at the SF State Downtown Campus.

Over 100 students from 15 colleges and universities gathered to hear hedge fund managers and investment professionals share investment techniques that made Warren Buffett and Sir John Templeton successful investors. The five guest speakers presented investment philosophies and case studies.

Additionally, the winner of the first Security Analysis Competition, organized by FAME, had the opportunity to present his investment idea to the distinguished speakers.

FAME strives to create valuable events for its peers across California, believing students ought to have opportunities to meet successful investors and learn about the real business world. And after the success of this inaugural symposium, club members decided to make it an annual event.
