More than 100 undergraduate business students attended a “Speed Networking with Professionals†event at the Cesar Chavez Center on Thursday evening April 14, 2011.
Students and Professionals Start Your Networking Now!
The evening featured 11 professionals from a broad array of fields including retail, travel, financial services, banking, insurance, marketing, technology and recruiting. Students sat at tables of ten to talk with professionals about topics ranging from job search strategies to emerging job opportunities to how to network effectively. Every 15 minutes, the students changed tables, keeping the conversation lively.
Networking Takes Organization
The event was organized by student officers from the College of Business student organizations together with the university's Career Center and Alumni Association. Mariko Hingston of the Career Center managed the event. Student Jon Lira was emcee of the evening.
