International Business alum Sean Ansett is the managing partner of At Stake Advisors, a sustainability consultancy based in Madrid, Spain. His client list includes American Eagle Outfitters, Burberry, the Better Cotton Initiative, First Group, the Global Fund, the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition, International Finance Corporation, and the World Bank. He is also a graduate of the Cross Sector Partnerships Program at the University of Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership, Cambridge UK.

Sean is a returned United States Peace Corps volunteer in micro-enterprise development based in the Dominican Republic and former World Food Program volunteer. He also completed a two year capacity building program co-funded by the European Union in Turkey. And most recently, he completed a six-week project as an enterprise consultant to the International Labor Organization in Port au Prince Haiti.

During his 12 years of experience in corporate social responsibility, Sean was the director of global partnerships at Gap Inc., where he led their social responsibility and stakeholder engagement strategy related to labor and human rights issues. As the chief architect behind the company’s stakeholder engagement strategy, he significantly enhanced the company’s reputation. Sean also served on Gap Inc.’s Global Compliance leadership team responsible for delivering the company’s ethical sourcing strategy. In addition, Sean also managed Gap Inc.’s labor standards compliance program in Mexico and the Caribbean.

Sean has served on several global multi-stakeholder initiatives, including the New York-based Advisory Board of Social Accountability International responsible for the SA8000 standard, the Amsterdam-based Global Reporting Initiative’s G3 standard expert committee, UNCTAD’s expert committee for developing social indicators in financial reporting, the London-based Ethical Trading Initiative, a founding member of the MFA Forum.

Sean is the European representative for Social Accountability International and serves on the Wisdom Council of the Hub Madrid, a social innovation start-up. Sean is also an associate professor at EOI Business School Madrid, and a guest lecturer at Instituto de Empresa, Madrid.
