Bring your own bag. Make it a habit and grab it.
These are the refrains in student-produced television and radio advertisements airing this fall throughout the Bay Area. This public education campaign waged by the Bay Area Recycling Outreach Coalition (BayROC) aims to help the environment through these simple reminders, such as talking to customers about the importance of reusable bags, and signing a pledge that they will remember to bring their own bags when they shop.
Television ads will run on Comcast channels (Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, Food Network and more) and some local stations.
To learn more about reusable bags and the BayROC campaign, see Bring Your Own Bag.
To read about how a multi-disciplinary class (Marketing and BECA) created a suite of radio, television and print advertisements for a nonprofit organization, see Department of Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts.
Alum Carolyn Hom, (B.S. Marketing, '09), said her advertising, creativity and production class asked teams of students to design pro-reusable bag ad campaigns for BayROC. CBS 5, 09/23/2009
