Steven Lim, an International Business student, was the recipient of the Mitsuko Saito Duerr scholarship for 2009.

The Mitsuko Saito Duerr Scholarship was established in 2008 by a
generous gift from Professor Emeritus Edwin Duerr, in honor of Professor
Mitsuko Saito Duerr. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance
to business students who pursue course work in Japan, and to international business students
who are active in the Japanese community.

A San Francisco native, Steven's academic interests, though mainly in international business and international relations, also include social science classes because, as he says, "they provide a healthy challenge for his brain."

He hopes to better understand Japanese culture during his year abroad. For the future, he'd like to find a career that allows him to improve social development or environmental stability around the world.

The International Business department and the College of Business congratulate Steven!
